Mediterranean Climate
Busselton is blessed with an enviable Mediterranean climate. South West summers are typically dry and sunny, with temperatures ranging from warm to hot, however, welcome sea breezes help to moderate the temperature and often it often cools down nicely after sunset.
Abundant sunshine during the warmer months provide ample opportunities for delegates to take a break from business to explore the region’s pristine coastline and picture-perfect landscapes.
During the cooler months, delegates may wish to taste wine in cosy cellar doors, explore temperate underground caves, visit art galleries or join a whale watching charter to spot humpback whales in Augusta.
The six seasons of Wadandi calendar are represented by changes that occur in weather and nature throughout the year.
Birak – December & January
Warm weather and cooling sea breezes. Fledglings start to venture from their nests and reptiles shed their skin.
Bunuru – February & March
The hottest time of the year with very low rainfall. Perfect for fishing. White flowers burst into bloom.
Djeran – April & May
Cooler weather begins. Red flowers and banksias bloom.
Makuru – June & July
The coldest and wettest time of the year. Animals start to pair up and black swans arrive to nest and breed. Blue and purple flowers start to blossom.
Djilba – August & September
A transitional time of the year characterised by a blend of different weather conditions throughout the season. There are occasional warm and sunny days, some cold and clear days, in addition to occasional heavy downpours and windy conditions. As the season progresses, many newborn species of wildlife start to emerge and forage.
Kambarang – October & November
Consistent hot weather and a wealth of brightly coloured wildflowers decorate the landscapes.
